"So, Mr. Holmes, do you know why you're here?"

"I assume it's because you all think I'm batshit insane?"

"Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say that, but you are mentally ill. Though here at Arkham we aim to fix that."

"Listen, Doc, I appreciate the gesture, but you can't fix what isn't broken. I'm not insane! I just live with a different perspective of the world. You see, jumping through universes tends to change how you look at things. The once important lives of the individual melt into two blurred groups: Relevant and Irrelevant."

"Is that so? Please, tell me more."

"Relevants are important. They have something to add to their given world in order to change it, for better or for worse. Where as Irrelevants are just that, irrelevant. They are pointless obstacles to slaughter on the road to progress. Like a pile of ants between a king and his gold. The king may get bit a few times, but the king will ultimately kill all the ants and claim his gold. The Irrelevants, or ants in this matter, are completely pointless as they had no chance of preventing the king from reaching his gold."

"What does this have to do with your recent string of murders?"

"They were Irrelevant."

"But a life is still a life, relevant or not."

"How about I put this into a form I know you're familiar with? Batman versus, let's say, The Riddler. Riddler sends goons out to kill The Batman or at least stop him. Batman clobbers goons and beats The Riddler. Goons or no, The Riddler loses. Hence, the goons are Irrelevant. Useless. They have no point or value. So here's where I come in. I kill the goons, Batman shows up and catches The Riddler without being hindered by Irrelevance."

"Batman wouldn't kill the goons though."

"Batman values human life. I don't."

"...If these two groups exist, tell me, which do I fall under?"

"You're Relevant, Doc. Barely. ... Well, I must be going now. I might see you again eventually."

"Where do you think you're going? Patients aren't allowed to lea- WHAT IS THAT!?"

"It's a tear in reality, Doc. I told you, I'm not insane!"

"WAIT! STOP!"

"Ciao!"

"I... I... NURSE!"

"Yes, Doctor?"

"Don't call me Doctor anymore, I'm checking in."
I've been working on an OC and figured I'd write up a rough draft of his perspective of life.
